Triggers
All reaction trigger types: text, commands, media, buttons, events, schedule, webhook.
On this page
A trigger is the event a reaction responds to. In the Trigger section of the editor you can enable multiple types at once: they are combined with OR: the reaction fires if any of the enabled triggers matches. Additional constraints (labels, parameters, chats) are configured separately in Conditions.
Text message
Fires on a text message or a media caption. The "What to look for" field offers several modes:
- Keywords: a list of words or phrases. The "Match" parameter: contains, exact match, starts with, regular expression; plus a "Case-sensitive" checkbox.
- Link: the message contains a URL.
- Email: the message contains an email address.
- Mention (@username): the message contains a mention.
- Any text: any text message.
Command
Fires on slash commands. List command names (without the /) in the "Commands (without '/')" field, for example help, menu. The bot will respond to /help and /menu.
/start command
A dedicated trigger for /start. The Payload field catches the deep-link parameter (/start <payload>); leaving it empty matches any /start. This is the foundation for referral and campaign links.
Inline button press (callback)
Fires when an inline button is pressed. The "Button data (callback_data)" field and the "Match" mode (exact, starts with, contains, regular expression) determine which buttons to catch.
Media
Fires on attachments of selected types: Photo, Video, Video message, Document, Audio, Voice, GIF, Sticker, Dice, Game, Poll, Contact, Location, Venue, Album.
System event
Fires on chat events: Joined via link, Added to chat, Left chat, Removed from chat, Status changed, Join request, Reaction on message, Reaction counter. Useful for welcome messages, moderation, and join request handling.
Reply and forwarded
- Reply to message: fires when the incoming message is a reply to another message.
- Forwarded message: fires on forwarded messages.
Every N-th message
Fires on every N-th message from a user (the "Every message #" field). Suitable for periodic hints or anti-flood measures.
Scheduled (dates)
Fires at specified points in time (a list of dates). A scheduled reaction is broadcast to active subscribers when the time arrives: see Broadcasts.
Incoming web request (webhook)
Fires on an HTTP request from an external source. Configure the Path (the full URL is built from the bot's address and the path), a Secret token (for security), and the Method (POST / GET / PUT / ANY). Request data is placed in the execution context and is accessible in actions via {{ctx.field}}. See Web requests and webhooks for details.
What's next
- Conditions and chats: narrow the trigger by audience and location.
- Actions: what the bot does in response.
