Import from SamBot
Migrate a bot from SamBot: reaction bundle, labels, dialog history, exporter, and browser extension.
On this page
If you are migrating from sambot.ru, GetMyBot can accept your bot in its entirety: reactions, labels, media, and even the conversation history with your users. The migration consists of two steps: export the data from SamBot (using the exporter or the browser extension) and import the resulting archive into GetMyBot.
What is transferred
- Reactions: the full bot behavior.
- Labels: subscriber tags with colors.
- Media: images and files referenced by reactions.
- Dialog history: conversation history between the bot and users (as a separate archive).
Importing the reaction bundle
The reaction archive (mybot-export.zip) is uploaded to a bot via POST /api/bots/{id}/reactions/import. Inside the archive:
manifest.json: header: format version, source (sambot), bot name, export date, counters.reactions.json: array of reactions (required).labels.json: list of labels (optional).media/<sha256>.<ext>: media files (optional).
Two modes are available:
- Append (
append): reactions from the archive are added to the existing ones. - Replace (
replace): the bot's current reactions are deleted, then reactions from the archive are loaded.
The total uncompressed size of the reaction bundle is limited to 64 MiB.
Importing dialog history
Conversation history is transferred as a separate archive (mybot-dialogs.zip) via POST /api/bots/{id}/dialogs/import. The archive contains user profiles and their messages with attachments, so the past conversation is immediately visible in the People section.
The total uncompressed size of the dialog archive is limited to 256 MiB.
Exporter (Python)
The tools/sambot_export package scrapes a bot from sambot.ru using a session cookie, downloads media, and packages everything into a zip bundle. Run from the tools/sambot_export directory: python -m exporter --cookie-file cookie.txt --bot 42785 --out mybot-export.zip.
- By default, reactions, labels, and media are exported.
- The
--mode dialogsmode exports the dialog history to a separatemybot-dialogs.zip. - Authentication is cookie-only from a logged-in session (the login form is protected by an anti-bot token, a password will not work). The cookie is taken from the browser.
Chrome extension
If the command line is inconvenient, there is a Chrome extension (MV3): "GetMyBot: export from SamBot". It exports a bot directly from the browser on the sambot.ru page: it requests access to the active tab and downloads, works with https://sambot.ru/*, and the session cookie never leaves the browser. The output is the same zip bundle that is imported into GetMyBot.
Migration steps
- Export the bot using the exporter or the extension: you will get
mybot-export.zip(andmybot-dialogs.zipif needed). - Import the reaction bundle into the bot (Append or Replace mode).
- If needed, import the dialog history.
- Review the reactions and labels, and if necessary, the media library.
What's next
- Reactions: basics: importing and exporting individual reactions.
- People (CRM): where imported dialog history appears.
- Media library: where transferred media ends up.
- Projects and channels: connect a bot before importing.
