Mini App

Telegram Mini App: web app button and user verification.

On this page

A Telegram Mini App is a web application that opens directly inside Telegram when the user taps a bot button. GetMyBot lets you open your Mini App from a reaction and securely verify the user who launched it.

Web app button

In the message builder, add an inline button of type "Web app" and enter the URL of your Mini App. When tapped, Telegram opens the app in an embedded window over the chat. See Messages and buttons for more on buttons.

User verification (initData)

When a Mini App opens, Telegram passes signed data about the user (initData) to it. Your app sends this to GetMyBot for verification, and the platform confirms the signature using the bot token (with freshness check). This lets the frontend identify the real Telegram user without blindly trusting the provided data.

What to keep in mind

  • The web app button and initData verification are the current Mini App surface in GetMyBot.
  • App data (orders, history, leaderboard) can conveniently be stored in collections and populated by reaction actions; reading from collections is done through the owner's authorized API.
