Reactions: basics

What a reaction is made of, how the editor works, firing order, import, and chains.

On this page

A reaction is the main building block of a bot: a rule that defines when to fire, under what conditions, and what to do. A bot is an ordered list of reactions; for each incoming event the platform walks the list from top to bottom and applies the first matching reaction. Open the Reactions section in the left menu.

What a reaction consists of

A reaction has four parts (editor tabs):

  • Trigger: the event the reaction responds to: text, command, media, button press, system event, schedule, and more. See Triggers.
  • In chats: where the reaction is active: private chat, groups when the bot is addressed, specific chats; plus filters based on user state.
  • Conditions: additional filters (labels, parameters, time, message count, etc.). See Conditions and chats.
  • Actions: what the bot does when fired: sends a message, applies labels, writes to a collection, calls AI, and more. See Actions.

Creating and editing

Click Create reaction (or open an existing one). The editor header contains a name (required), number #N, description, and the Active toggle. The left panel navigates between the Trigger / In chats / Conditions / Actions sections; the center shows the form; the right panel shows a Telegram preview of how the message will look with blocks, keyboard, and menu. Save with the Save button.

For a saved reaction, the editor also shows a stats panel: fire count, a chart, and recent events.

Order and priority

Reactions in the list can be dragged to reorder: order determines priority. For any given event, the first matching reaction fires and the search stops. To continue the search and let subsequent matching reactions fire, add a Next reaction action (goto_next).

Enabling and disabling

The toggle in the list row (or Active in the editor) enables and disables a reaction without deleting it. Disabled reactions are skipped during the search.

Duplicating and deleting

Each row in the list has Duplicate (creates a copy) and Delete buttons. Duplication is useful when you need a similar reaction with minor differences.

Import and export

A reaction can be exported to JSON (the Export button in the editor) and imported back (Import in the list). This lets you move reactions between bots and keep versioned copies outside the platform.

Broadcasting a reaction

The Broadcast button in a reaction's row (the "send" icon) delivers that reaction to all active subscribers of the bot: handy for announcements and notifications. You can narrow the audience by labels. See Broadcasts for details.

Chains and dialogs

Multiple reactions can be combined into scenarios:

  • Chain reaction (chain): an action that triggers another reaction mid-execution.
  • Next reaction (goto_next): passes control to the next matching reaction in the list.
  • Dialog steps: a message block can wait for a user reply (with format validation), pausing the scenario. See Messages and buttons.
  • Else branch: if a reaction's conditions are not met, you can trigger a fallback reaction (a field in the Conditions section).
